Dave and I went swimming this morning at 08:00 and had the pool to ourselves at that hour. Great! We had been warned that the water would be cold, but not for us hardy souls from the UK! The water was warm and the swim very pleasant.
Not so the hot water tap for the shower, which was cold, but I stuck it out and completed ablutions!
Brunch
The weekend consists of Friday and Saturday in Dubai.
On Fridays, many expats and locals head for the five star hotels on the Palm for brunch, a wonderful affair, with a myriad of styles of food, and chefs cooking hot dishes. It's a case of doing a recce and hen going back different tables as often as one wishes.
What a feast! The term Brunch certainly doesn't do it justice.
Making the dim sum.
The Jumeira Palm is the only one of three artificial islands planned for Dubai to be completed as yet. See http://www.visitdubai.com/en/travel-planning/neighbourhoods-and-landmarks/palm-jumeirah
Marie and Craig's apartment is close to the Burj Khalifa and has excellent views of it from their balcony. It is the tallest tower in the world and was completed in 2009. It has spectacular light shows on special occasions (although I haven't discovered why there was a series of them last night).

Brunch looks beautiful! Great to see you getting into Dubai spirit - and safe travels to Sue and Geoff.
