We journeyed into the old trading centre of Singapore, now turned busy tourist night spot of Clarke Quay this evening and had a meal. It was really buzzing and, along with others, we watched excited young people experiencing the 'G-Max Reverse Bungy' rides/swings. The cage hung high in the air for a minute or so, then there was a collective gasp as the cage made its rapid descent!
It looked rather good to me and, if we'd been staying a day longer, I'd have had a go. Maybe next time!
Julian, our host, joined us after his shift at the Singapore Golf tournament had finished for the day, and showed us around the area. Apart from restaurants and night clubs, the circuit took in lights, bridges, fountains, more lights, live music, a view of part of the Formula One route, splendid colonial buildings, more lights and a hawkers' market at the end, where I spotted one of my favourite desserts, tempura bananas. Mmm! A fantastic evening.
Got back late last night so, although this was written, there was too little time to post. There are some problems with The Blogger App, so I'm posting a different way, and that has its own issues, including the addition of photos, so I'll post the text now and aim to sort out photos later. It will all take a little longer until I find the best method.
